Visitors arriving at the Oklahoma Conference of Seventh‑day Adventists may notice caution tape across the main entrance and construction materials scattered beneath the portico. Conference leadership is assuring members and guests that there is no cause for alarm. The building remains open, and visitors are asked to use the side entrances until further notice.
On Sunday, March 29, 2026, the portico connecting the Conference office to the Central Oklahoma City Church sustained significant structural damage after being struck by a moving truck. The impact caused portions of the fascia and soffit to collapse, which remain on the ground where they fell.
Because of the extent of the damage, the Conference is unable to complete repairs internally. Staff are currently working with the insurance company and outside contractors to assess the full scope of the structural issues and determine the safest and most effective repair plan.
Even if the fallen materials were removed, the portico itself would remain unsafe and unusable until full repairs are completed. Depending on contractor availability, insurance processing, and structural requirements, the restoration timeline may extend several weeks or even months.
During this period, the Conference recommends the following temporary traffic flow:
East driveway (Conference side): Incoming traffic
West driveway (Church side): Outgoing traffic
Conference administration apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure. “We appreciate your patience and understanding,” leadership shared. “Safety must remain our top priority until the damage is fully resolved.”
