Celebrating Thelma Vigneron’s 24 Years of Dedicated Service

After 24 years of tireless service, Thelma Vigneron is retiring from her role as Auditor of the Oklahoma Conference, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, expertise, and unwavering support. Throughout her career, Thelma has been an essential asset to the churches and the conference office, always ready to lend a hand or share her vast knowledge with those around her. Treasurers and colleagues alike have come to rely on her thoughtful guidance and trust her as a steady source of support.

Thelma's journey in ministry started at Oklahoma Academy, where she worked in the business office for ten years, gaining invaluable experience that prepared her for the many facets of her role at the Oklahoma Conference. Her career then took her to the other side of the globe to the island of Yap in Micronesia. There, she served as both treasurer and registrar at Yap Adventist School, learning the ins and outs of administration and finance in a unique and challenging environment. When she returned in 2000, she started at the Oklahoma Conference Office where she has worked faithfully for the past 24 years.

Beyond her professional expertise, Thelma has a remarkable ability to make those around her feel valued and supported. Her generosity of spirit is evident not only in her work but also in her personal life. Thelma is passionate about gardening, a pursuit she sees as an extension of her ministry. Drawing inspiration from Jeremiah 29:5—"Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce"—she views gardening as a way to connect with friends and neighbors, sharing both her harvests and the blessings of her heart. She embodies the belief that generosity, in every form, enriches lives and builds community.

Italian food may be her favorite, but Thelma’s true joy lies in nurturing relationships, whether through helping churches establish solid financial practices or cultivating beautiful blooms in her garden. Her warmth, kindness, and willingness to help have left a lasting impact on the conference community, creating friendships and memories that will endure beyond her retirement.

As Thelma moves into this new chapter of her life, her presence will be deeply missed by all who have had the pleasure of working with her. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Thelma for her many years of service, her commitment to excellence, and her genuine care for everyone she’s served. Thank you, Thelma, for your dedication and your ministry, which has touched lives in ways beyond measure. We wish you all the best as you continue to “plant gardens and eat what they produce,” blessing all who know you in fresh, new ways.
