Precautions

In preparation for this coming summer we have already planned additional screening and health measures to ensure campers and guests are safe while at camp.

  • Check-in: Campers will be screened during check-in using a thermometer and asked to fill out a health history questionnaire. Campers who are symptomatic or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 will be asked to stay home.

  • During Camp: Additional mandatory hand washing times will be added to the camp schedule and the practice of physical distancing. At times when social distancing is not possible, campers will be asked to wear face coverings especially when inside an enclosed building.

  • Cleanliness: Our standard cleaning process for our kitchens, meeting rooms, and bathrooms, includes sanitizing all surfaces including door handles and common surfaces.

  • Cohorts: Campers will participate of activities and programing with their cohort ("unit" or "household") through out the week. Each cohort will rotate together from one activity to another as a group.

  • Wewoka Woods Summer Camp will follow the Field Guide for Camps on Implementation of CDC Guidelines (May 18, 2020) and maintain the standards of the Amercian Camp Association (ACA) for safety and health guidelines.

Objectives For Each Camper

  1. Meeting and knowing Christ as a personal Friend and Savior.

  2. Learning that by taking your friend JESUS with them in everything they do they’re guaranteed the most exciting and joy-filled life possible.

  3. Building self-esteem, personal growth, and interpersonal relationships through safe and enjoyable activities.

  4. Learning to value respect for the rights and dignity of others independent of their differences.

  5. Provide a safe environment for campers to try new things and teach them that failing only happens if you don’t try.

A Foundation of Confidence and Character

Wewoka Woods provides an amazing opportunity to build values, Godly character, and confidence. Through learning to reach out and accept others, campers learn how to make friends and how to be good friends. By coming together on the playing field, they learn teamwork and sportsmanship. When taking on challenges in sports, arts, and aquatics, campers develop courage and self-confidence. Daily messages remind them of God special purpose for their lives. At Wewoka Woods, we help campers believe in themselves and doing their best to honor God. The growth that results from this Wewoka Woods experience stays with our campers well beyond their summer.
