Last year, Native Ministries partnered with Tulsa Adventist Academy, churches across the Oklahoma Conference, Ozark Adventist Academy, and a dedicated team of volunteers to pack 50,000 meals for families and communities throughout Oklahoma. Churches were able to take meals back to their local communities and use them as a powerful outreach ministry.

The event was such a success that this year organizers are doubling the impact.

On Tuesday, October 27, and Sunday, November 1, volunteers will come together to pack an incredible 100,000 meals at the Tulsa Adventist Academy Gymnasium. The goal is to provide nutritious meals that can be distributed by churches and ministries across the state to meet practical needs while sharing Christ's love.

Two Days of Service

On October 27, students from Tulsa Adventist Academy will pack the first 50,000 meals consisting of Macaroni and Cheese. Then, on November 1, volunteers from churches and communities across Oklahoma will gather to complete any remaining macaroni meals and pack an additional 50,000 Oatmeal with Apple meals.

Volunteer Opportunities

To make this event successful, volunteers are needed in several key areas.

October 26-27

Truck Unloading Team Five to seven volunteers are needed on October 26 to help unload the delivery truck. The anticipated arrival time is around 5:00 PM, although the exact schedule will be confirmed closer to the event date. If you can serve as one of these "Minute Men" or "Minute Women," please contact Pastor Jim Landelius.

November 1

Setup Team Seven to ten volunteers are needed to arrive at 7:00 AM to help set up the gymnasium. Setup is expected to take approximately 45 minutes to one hour.

Table Captains Ten table captains are needed to oversee the ten packing stations. Captains will train and guide volunteers assigned to their table. Captains should arrive by 8:45 AM.

General Volunteers Between 140 and 165 volunteers are needed for the packing session. Volunteers should arrive no later than 9:15 AM.

Supporting Tulsa Adventist Academy

In recognition of Tulsa Adventist Academy's commitment to dedicating a school day to this community service project, Pastor Jim Landelius is inviting churches to consider making a financial contribution to the academy.

Churches may choose to donate two cents, five cents, ten cents per meal, or any amount they feel led to give. Contributions are entirely voluntary and are not required for churches to receive meals. However, churches requesting meals are encouraged to provide volunteers for the packing event.

Meal Distribution

Organizers are requesting that pastors estimate the number of meal boxes their churches would like to receive so distribution plans can be arranged in advance.

The packed meals will be distributed in the following quantities:

  • Macaroni and Cheese: 260 boxes containing 192 meals each

  • Oatmeal with Apples: 154 boxes containing 324 meals each

These meals will support outreach efforts and provide practical assistance to communities throughout Oklahoma.

This meal-packing initiative is more than a volunteer opportunity. It is a chance for churches, schools, and community members to work together in service, providing hope and nourishment to families across Oklahoma. Whether you can help unload a truck, lead a table, pack meals, or support the effort financially, your participation will help make a lasting difference in the lives of others.
