Vacation Bible School is underway at Hugo Adventist Church

The first night of Vacation Bible School (VBS) at the Hugo Seventh‑day Adventist Church opened with energy, laughter, and a sanctuary filled halfway with excited kids — a strong start that Pastor Carlos de la Cruz says exceeded expectations. When half the sanctuary is filled with children on opening night, it signals something powerful: the community is hungry for connection, and the church is meeting that need.


The Hugo Seventh‑day Adventist Church, located at 2627 Kirk St, Hugo, OK 74743, saw families pouring in as VBS kicked off, and Pastor Carlos set the tone by arriving in full Bible‑era costume, instantly winning the kids’ attention and helping create a playful, immersive environment.



A thriving Vacation Bible School does far more than entertain children — it shapes spiritual identity, builds community, and strengthens the church’s mission. Programs like this are especially impactful because they:

Wendy De La Cruz, is the one leading out. She's been in charge from the beginning of this "Mountains of Miracles".themed VBS. Pastor Carlos De La Cruz's joyful leadership, the volunteers’ preparation, and the kids’ enthusiasm combined to create a first night that felt alive with purpose. Moments like these remind us that VBS isn’t just a program — it’s ministry in motion, shaping hearts one child at a time.


VBS BeGinS in ANTLERS NEXT

After the Hugo VBS concludes, the Antlers, Oklahoma Adventist congregation will host VBS from 5:30 to 8 pm June 21st to the 26th.
