Three of the Oklahoma Conference’s six small schools came together this week to celebrate music, community, and Adventist education through a special joint Small Schools Spring Concert. Hosted by the Muskogee Seventh‑day Adventist Church and School, the event brought students, families, and educators from across the state to share an evening of worshipful music and fellowship.

For many of the participating students—who often learn in small, multi‑grade classrooms—this concert offered a rare opportunity to sing, play, and perform alongside peers from other campuses. The joy was evident as children connected, laughed, and discovered the excitement of being part of something larger than their own school community.
“Our small schools don’t always get the chance to mingle with one another,” said Tara Bailey, who helped coordinate the event. “Seeing them come together, support each other, and make music as one group was truly special.”
The program featured a variety of vocal and instrumental selections, each highlighting the dedication of teachers who often wear multiple hats in their classrooms. Parents and church members filled the sanctuary, offering enthusiastic support and celebrating the students’ hard work.
Leaders and educators expressed hope that this gathering will become a new annual tradition—one that strengthens relationships between schools, encourages collaboration, and reminds students that they are part of a vibrant, statewide Adventist education family.
“We want our small schools to feel connected,” Bailey added. “Events like this help our students see that they belong to something bigger, and that their gifts matter.”
The Oklahoma Conference continues to explore ways to support and uplift its small schools, recognizing the essential role they play in nurturing faith, character, and academic growth in communities across the state.
