Sallisaw Church Honors “Superman” Tom Neal as 2026 Member of the Year
The Sallisaw Seventh‑day Adventist Church recently celebrated one of its most dedicated members, recognizing Tom Neal as the congregation’s 2026 Member of the Year. According to church treasurer Doris Trotter, every church needs Jesus — and every church also needs a “Superman.” For Sallisaw, that hero is Tom.
Tom was honored during the worship service on Sabbath, September 19, where he received a Braum’s gift certificate as a small token of appreciation for his love, kindness, and unwavering service to the church family and the wider community. Trotter shared how Tom regularly brings flowers and potted plants to widows in the congregation, and how he frequently surprises the ladies who prepare meals for special events and potlucks with fresh flowers as well. His ministry of encouragement has become a cherished blessing.
As head deacon, Tom’s service extends far beyond acts of kindness.
Church clerk Gretchen Dobbs noted, “Tom shows the love of God. He knows the Bible and can quote scripture and verse.”

Both Dobbs and Trotter expressed deep gratitude for Tom’s faithfulness, humility, and Christlike example. His quiet acts of compassion have strengthened the Sallisaw church family and inspired others to serve with joy.
