God's Masterpiece: 2026 Oklahoma Conference Outdoor School
The 2026 Oklahoma Conference Outdoor School for all 5th and 6th grade students was held October 21-23 at Wewoka Woods. It was a truly special experience filled with learning, friendship, spiritual growth, and a deeper appreciation for God's creation. We were blessed by the participation of wonderful students, dedicated teachers, and selfless volunteers who helped make the event meaningful and memorable for everyone involved.
This year's theme, "God's Masterpiece," was based on Ephesians 2:10 (NLT): "For we are God's masterpiece." The theme song, "I Am Not My Own," reinforced the message that every young person is uniquely created and deeply loved by God. Special speaker Chris Bailey shared inspiring presentations that compared the seven principles of masterful art to the way God creates each of us in His image. Through his engaging messages, students were encouraged to recognize their God-given value and purpose.
In a world where young people often face intense pressure to find their identity and worth in society's expectations, Outdoor School provided a refreshing reminder that God intentionally created every individual as a masterpiece. As gifted teachers guided students through lessons about nature and the beauty of God's creation, they also challenged them to celebrate the uniqueness and value found in one another.
We are especially grateful to Pastor Israel Mora and Pastor Anthony Adams, who faithfully served as chaperones during critical times throughout the event. Their support and ministry were a tremendous blessing to both students and staff.
Perhaps one student's comment best captured the impact of the weekend. As the final activity came to a close, the student shared:
"I really don't want this time to end. I know I will just be on my phone when I go home. I love not having it. I didn't miss being on it while I've been here."
Moments like these remind us of the importance of creating opportunities for young people to disconnect from distractions, connect with God's creation, build meaningful relationships, and grow closer to Him.
We invite you to enjoy the videos from each day and celebrate how God worked in the lives of these students during an unforgettable Outdoor School experience at Wewoka Woods. May they always remember that they are fearfully, wonderfully, and intentionally made by the Master Artist Himself.
