District Churches Prepare for Annual Fall Retreat at Quartz Mountain

Members from the Altus, Elk City, and Weatherford Seventh‑day Adventist churches are preparing for their Annual Fall District Retreat, scheduled for October 3, 2026, at the scenic Picnic Shelter #2 at Quartz Mountain State Park. Nestled near the dam and surrounded by Oklahoma’s signature autumn beauty, the retreat promises a full day of worship, fellowship, and spiritual renewal.

Want to come join us for "Outside" worship? You're invited to bring makings for haystacks, which are basically Adventist super nachos with salad on top!

The retreat will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Sabbath School, followed by a united worship service at 11:30 a.m. The speaker for the day will be Todd Gessele, from the Oklahoma Conference Communication Department and Prisoner Outreach Ministries. Attendees can look forward to an uplifting message centered on mission, hope, and the transforming power of Christ.

The haystacks-themed potluck will follow the worship service, giving families and friends time to connect and enjoy a meal together in the beautiful Quartz Mountain setting. A children’s program will be provided, ensuring that young ones are engaged and included throughout the day. Spanish‑speaking members are warmly encouraged to attend.

To make travel easy, yellow “SDA Retreat” signs will guide attendees from the highway between Blair and Lone Wolf directly to the picnic shelter.
