Shawnee Church Celebrates Recommitment Baptism
Shawnee, Okla. — Members of the Shawnee Seventh-day Adventist Church rejoiced as Tyler Hood publicly reaffirmed his commitment to Christ through baptism during a special service held Sabbath.

According to Pastor Carlos de la Cruz, Hood's decision was the result of personal reflection and a desire to fully follow through on a conviction he had carried for some time.
"Tyler Hood came into the church through profession of faith and always thought he should have been baptized," said Carlos de la Cruz. "We spoke, and he shared his story with me. He said he wanted to have a fresh start and follow through with it. The Lord put it on his heart."
Church members gathered to witness the baptism and celebrate what many described as a powerful testimony of God's continuing work in the lives of believers. Family, friends and fellow church members surrounded Hood with encouragement as he publicly expressed his desire to deepen his commitment to Jesus Christ.

Recommitment baptisms often serve as significant spiritual milestones, providing an opportunity for individuals to renew their walk with God and publicly affirm their faith. For the Choctaw congregation, the service was a reminder that God continues to lead people into a closer relationship with Him.
Members praised God for Hood's decision and expressed gratitude for the ministry of discipleship and personal connection taking place within the congregation. Church leaders noted that stories like his demonstrate the importance of listening to the Holy Spirit's prompting and responding in faith.
As the church celebrated this special occasion, members were reminded of Christ's promise to make all things new and of the joy that accompanies every renewed commitment to follow Him.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV).
