A Legacy of Resilience

Updated: Nov 6

Nestled in Oklahoma’s Green Country, Claremore Adventist School has a rich legacy of faith and dedication. Since its founding in 1979 on a plot of land donated by devoted church member Ina Reese, this school has been a testament to God’s provision. With the support of the Claremore Seventh-day Adventist Church, the school opened its doors to 19 students in its first year, laying the foundation for a community dedicated to education, service, and growth.

Over the years, the school thrived, reaching milestones like a record enrollment in 1988 and developing a variety of programs. Though challenges led to a temporary closure in 2005, the dream was revived in 2013 when a new generation of church members felt the call to reopen the school. After prayer and hard work, the doors opened again, welcoming students back into a thriving Christ-centered environment.

Then, in May 2023, an EF3 tornado struck Claremore, devastating the school building and uprooting trees. In the face of this destruction, the Claremore church family and surrounding communities rallied together. Volunteers worked tirelessly to clear debris, and members organized a fundraiser at camp meeting, raising over $1,700 to help rebuild. With countless helping hands, the school was ready for students by August, showing the strength and love of this community.
