A 15‑Year Journey to the Water — and to the Altar

In Ketchum, Oklahoma, Gabe Harper, Curt Wigelsworth, and his fiancée Betty Wigelsworth decided to be baptized on Independence Day, marking a significant change in their lives. After being together for 15 years, Curt and his fiancée felt a deep spiritual awakening. Their baptism last Sabbath was an event filled with joy, tears, and the clear presence of the Holy Spirit.

This past weekend, that journey continued as the couple stood together again — this time to be married. Their wedding was simple, beautiful, and overflowing with gratitude for the God who had brought them this far.

As pastor Kris Knott, who both baptized and officiated, shared afterward, “It was a beautiful Sabbath and a beautiful wedding. The Lord is working in their hearts in a big way.”

Beside them, Gabe Harper also took a step in his faith. While attending teen camp, Gabe expressed his desire to be baptized but his family was unable to attend. However, it did not stop him from his commitment. The very next weekend he celebrated his baptism with family beside Curt and Betty in the Ketchum church.

Miami Celebrates Sherman and Becky Hamon

Meanwhile, in Miami, another couple stepped forward in faith. Sherman and Becky Hamon were baptized last week, publicly declaring their commitment to Christ. Their story, like the Ketchum couple, reflects years of God’s quiet work — shaping, healing, and preparing them for this moment.

Their baptism brought deep joy to the Miami church family, who have been praying for them and walking alongside them.

A Weekend of New Beginnings

Across both congregations, these baptisms and weddings were more than ceremonies — they were testimonies of God’s faithfulness, the power of long‑term love, and the beauty of surrender.

Two churches.

Five baptisms.

One wedding.

One God moving in mighty ways.

The Oklahoma Conference celebrates with these families and prays for their continued growth, joy, and discipleship as they begin this new chapter together.
