John Moyer
Lay Pastor
John Moyer has long been a beloved spiritual leader in the Oklahoma Conference, known for his humility, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to God’s calling. As a former conference president and long-time pastor, John’s ministry has touched countless lives across West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Oklahoma. His journey began with a childhood sense of calling, deepened through his baptism after studying the Bible with his wife Donna, and culminated in a bold step of faith at age 36 to pursue full-time ministry. With Donna and their five children, he moved to Tennessee to earn his theology degree, launching a decades-long career of service and soul-winning.
Even after retiring from conference leadership, John’s heart for ministry remains strong. Today, he continues to serve as a lay pastor at the Guthrie Seventh-day Adventist Church, where his gentle spirit and deep love for people continue to inspire. His favorite verse, Hebrews 10:37—“For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry”—still guides his vision and message. Whether leading evangelistic initiatives or offering a quiet word of encouragement, John Moyer’s life is a living testimony to the power of faith, prayer, and perseverance. He is deeply loved and appreciated, and his legacy continues to bless the church family he so faithfully serves.
